I. Community Standards:

We take pride in keeping our message boards clean, and active. Please read the following forum rules and guidelines before posting. If the guidelines reflected here do not meet your opinions or thoughts, then we encourage you to find a community that is best fit for you. Like any community or forum, LouisianaSports.net has certain standards that all members abide.

Disagreement and sharing opinions within the forum are encouraged. Members of this community must give respect to other member's opinions, and ideas whether they agree or not. It is important to remember that many contextual clues in face-to-face discussion are lost in this type of forum. As a poster, try to be alert for word phrasing that could possibly be misinterpreted by your audience as offensive; as a reader, remember to give the benefit of the doubt. Below you will find several basic rules that members must follow.

NOTE: LouisianaSports.net reserves the right to refuse membership or access to anyone who we feel is abusing the service to LSN or our forum members. We will terminate access at our discretion.

II. Trash Talking:

Any trash talking and/or cussing at staff members will result in an automatic warning. When I say trash talking I mean when someone trashes a staff members decision, not when they get into an argument of who’s got the best quaterback in the LHSAA. No discriminating comments or racial slurs are allowed either. Members must make note that this also includes the posting of taunts in a forum solely for the purpose of deriding that forum's topic and/or members. If any of this is shown by a member, then the user will be warned. Repeat violators will be permanently banned.

III. Useless posts:

It’s stupid to see replies to people who need help that have nothing to do with the question in the first place. Leave the junk out, there’s a time and a place for humor but keep it out of topics that are asking questions, even if the answer is obivious. If a post that you are going to make is addressed to a particular member, it might be better to contact the member via email or private message.

These posts may be deleted for any reasons the forum administrators deem reasonable.

IV. Cross Posts:

If you have something to post and you're not sure which board it belongs in, do not post it in more than one board. If an administrator or moderator thinks it should be in a different forum, then they will move it there.

V. Sex talk and pictures:

We might have children at our site that shouldn’t be seeing sex pictures posted. This is one of our most enforced rules, and repeated offences will lead to warnings and/or bannings. Any links to clearly offensive or pornographic materials will be removed immediately at the moderator's discretion.

VI. Spamming:

This is a big NO NO. We are totally against spam, and if you post a topic wanting people to sign up at your site, the link will be removed and you will be warned. Please, just follow this rule, and don't act like an idiot. Repeat violators who continue to post unrelated content will be permanently banned.

VII. Discussing piracy:

Discussing piracy or illegal software in this forum is strictly prohibited, and anyone caught posting links or asking for information repeatedly will be talking to me.

If you see someone doing this, please use the "Report Post" option in the topic. Thanks.

VIII. Signatures and Avatars:

In order to keep the pages loading quickly, we only allow you to have one image in your signature.

This image should not contain any obscene content (both verbal and visual) and may not be larger than 300x400.

Links to other websites are allowed in your signature, but please keep it to a minimum.

Currently, you may choose an avatar from our gallery or upload your own. If you choose to upload your own, it must be less than 10k in size, and 100x100 or smaller. Your avatar may not contain any obscene content.

So to summarize:

  • Do not put anything in your signature/avatar that you wouldn't want your mother or children seeing.
  • No ginormous pictures.
  • If your signature is longer than your average post, it's too long.

Any avatars/signatures in violation of this policy will be removed. Repeat offenders will have their avatar and signature privileges revoked.

IX. Article Posting Policy:

In order to prevent claims of copyright infringement, if you plan on discussing or posting an article, do not simply copy-and-paste the entire article word by word in your post. This would constitute copyright infringement and could get us in trouble. Instead of doing this, please give a link to the article (if it's on the web) and if you choose to, quote a couple of lines that you want your post to focus on.

X. The administrators and moderators have the final word:

If you have a problem or a complaint, direct it to the administrators and/or moderators, not to the boards. This means that users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem can not be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin, who will make the final decision.

Comments about our policy:

Any suggestions on this policy may be made directly to webmaster@LouisianaSports.net
