Former Saints coach Jim Haslett said he will travel to Detroit on Thursday to interview for the Lions head coaching job, currently held by interim coach Dick Jauron.
Haslett said the Lions contacted his agent, Peter Schaffer, on Tuesday to arrange the interview.
"I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say," Haslett said. "I think it's important to weigh all my options."
The Lions job opened in midseason when Detroit fired Coach Steve Mariucci. Jauron coached the final five games of the season and was 1-4.
