Post subject: Mississippi State denies LSU of NCAA baseball tournament
Mississippi State, a 2-week #1 team yet slipped later in the season, received a bid to participate in the Clemson Regional of the NCAA College World Series Baseball Tournament. The Bulldogs finished their regular season 35-14, while LSU ended their season 35-24.
This is only the 2nd time an SEC team has received a bid into the NCAA tournament without participating in the SEC tournament, and the first time a team went to the SEC tournament and not the NCAA tournament.
