well, considering reports have come out already saying that they are aware that they won't be done, my vote is that they won't be done
I think they are going to get close though. At last report, there might be 3,000 seats or so that might not be completed, and the LSU Administration has vowed to find seats for these fans no matter what. There has been talks that some members of the alumni band will have their free seats taken out for the first game, to accomidate the fans who will be losing their seats.
I'm not too concearned about the first game, as long as the place is ready to EXPLODE for the Tennessee game. Not that I'm looking past North Texas, but yeah, Tennessee is going to be our first test, and I'm really not afraid of them either.

For the record the delays at the stadium are due to Yates Construction's incompetence. I know this for a fact because I have first hand knowledge of the whole construction project. I am working on getting pictures of the construction site so everyone can see for themselves where it is and I can explain to you why it is the way it is and I'll try to keep everyone up to date on the completion date.

What's the latest on Tiger Stadium? I passed through this weekend, and I could see the stadium from the interstate, but couldn't tell how far along it is.

Well we're wrapping up our end of the deal next week. I am personally working on the spandrel pieces that go behind the last, highest row of seats to keep people from falling off the top deck. In the picture below is one of the spandrels that i am working on.

The longest of these pieces is 67 feet long and weighs over 60,000 pounds. Beleive me a lot of work has gone into this.

pic of the upper deck area. those are the risers that those guys are walking on. they are prestressed concrete and each weighs about 30,000-45,000 pounds.
we only have three of those risers left to ship and four more spandrels to pour to finish the job. I thought i would be done by Friday the 19th but it will be monday before I can pour the last two.
Here's a shot across the field.

there are plenty more pictures at LSU Sports.net
The main hold ups have been due to Yates construction having to redo a lot of their concrete work and re-engineering of a lot of pieces that we had to remake because their on site concrete pours were off of the specifications. Even though it is tasking longer than planned and there have been setbacks the stadium is strructurally sound and safe to sit on.
Have fun
