I absolutely hate the BCS. In the past few years, an SEC team has always either screwed or been screwed by the BCS. Yet this year it's LSU that's being screwed.

1. LSU's loss to Tennessee. The computers have some sort of strength of schedule component to its calculation. Also, some have a home-field advantage part. Since TN sucked this year, and the loss was at home, this hurts LSU.

2. LSU's win against Appiwhatchacallit State. Some computers don't give credit for wins against lower-division teams.

3. SEC weakness. With quite a few non-conference losses, the SEC won't get any respect this year. Examples: Tennessee's loss to Notre Dame, Arkansas's loss to FUSC, MSU's loss to University of Houston, and Auburn's loss to Georgia Tech.

While I hate the human component of the BCS when it comes to FUSC, it is actually giving a boost to LSU. The BCS computers put 2 2-loss teams above LSU (U of Miami FL and Ohio State).

If LSU wins out, it could be LSU v either Penn State or VaTech. I'd personally like to see Penn State since Joe Paterno is a legend.

Here Landon, here's a tissue...stop your boohooing...

There is a certain aspect of college athletics that is just out of the hands of the teams playing on the field. Especially in football. This will never be solved until there is a playoff system in place...but just think, even then teams are still going to bitch. If it's an 8 team playoff system, teams 9-11 will bitch. If it's a 16 team tournament, teams 17-20 are going to complain. Get used to it.

The complaint about not getting credit for a crappy team is bogus. Everyone involved knows how the BCS works (or doesn't work) so if you schedule a lower division team, you know it's not going to help you out at all. Granted, this is where the "out of their hands" stuff comes into play. We were supposed to play Va Tech and they backed out, so we got stuck with App State.

We can't control what the rest of the conference does. The system is in place to reward teams who play good teams and in good conferences, and thats the way it will always be. Again, it's out of our hands how other teams play. Thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Since you are boohooing and all, tell us why Mississippi State should be in a bowl game...
