The quarterback carousel at Oklahoma continues with another change ahead of Oklahoma’s road game at Ole Miss this Saturday. Sophomore Jackson Arnold will get the start in Oxford against No. 18 Ole Miss, Brent Venables announced on his radio show.
Arnold started the first four games of the season before being benched against Tennessee for true freshman Michael Hawkins, Jr. Venables went back to Arnold after Hawkins committed three turnovers in the first three series of the South Carolina game.
Arnold has been the ultimate team guy despite being benched, even burning his potential redshirt last weekend to come off the bench against the Gamecocks in a 26-point loss.
The news of Arnold starting comes on the heels of the Sooners firing offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. Through seven games this season, the Sooners offense ranks 107th or worse nationally in seven major statistical categories including total offense, scoring offense, rushing offense, passing offense, yards per play, yards per carry, and yards per pass attempt.
