Carr ruled out for Sunday versus Commanders

NEW ORLEANS — Ahead of taking in the Washington Commanders on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints announced a trio of roster transactions.
The Saints announced that starting quarterback Derek Carr has been downgraded to out for the game. Carr is managing a left hand injury while also navigating concussion protocol. He was listed as doubtful for the matchup, but now will be unavailable.
This opens up the door for the expected start of second-year quarterback Jake Haener. This also means that rookie passer Spencer Rattler will be the No. 2 quarterback on game day.
New Orleans also moved linebacker D’Marco Jackson to Injured Reserve. Jackson suffered an ankle injury that sidelined him for the second half and more during last weekend’s win over the New York Giants.
With Jackson headed to the injury list, he will be out of the remainder of the season as he is required to sit out a minimum of four games.
In his roster slot, defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon was activated from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. At long last, Kpassagnon will make his 2024 season debut after suffering a torn Achilles during offseason programs.
