Derek Carr headlines Saints inactives against Commanders

By Ross Jackson
NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints have announced their inactives for Sunday’s Week 15 matchup against the Washington Commanders. As already declared, starting quarterback Derek Carr will be out. That paves the way for the Saints’ eighth starting passer since the retirement of former quarterback Drew Brees.
Here are the Saints’ inactives against the Commanders.
QB Derek Carr
RB Jordan Mims
WR Mason Tipton
DL Tanoh Kpassagnon
DT Kristian Boyd
Most of the other inactives are the usual ones for the team. With running back Kendre Miller back healthy and active, it limits the opportunities for Mims that he was getting early on in the season.
The surprise is Kpassagnon. The defensive lineman finally works his way back to the active roster only to be inactive on game day. He’s healthy and ready to go, but clearly the Saints don’t believe that this is the right matchup or week to get going. Hopefully they will be able to get him back on the field soon.
Linebacker Jaylan Ford is the other usual inactive, but he will be active today. He will play a large special teams role for the club.
