Numbers to Know: SEC Week 14 Roundup

Just like that, another college football season has come to an end. Before we move on to championship week, we take a look at the numbers to know from rivalry week and the final week of the regular season. Numbers never lie, and here are the best numbers, stats, streaks, and trends from Week 14. 

72: Georgia was shut out in the first half against Georgia Tech, which was the first time in 72 games (Kentucky 2019) that’s happened

 

35: Total drops by UGA wide receivers this season, which is the most in the country.

 

90874304823: The amount of times Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer brought up Georgia clinching a playoff spot with a win against Georgia Tech.

 

17: The 17 points Vanderbilt scored in the first quarter against Tennessee was the most points they’ve scored in a first quarter in 17 years.

 

71: South Carolina has out-scored its opponents by 71 points in the fourth quarter.

 

5: Alabama has beaten Auburn five-straight years for the first time since 1981

 

1: LaNorris Sellers had 150 yards passing and 150 yards rushing against Clemson. He is the only Power Four Quarterback to do that in a game this year.

 

18: LaNorris Sellers forced 18 missed tackles in Saturday’s game against Clemson. That’s the most of any quarterback in a single game since Pro Football Focus started tracking in 2014.

 

3: Jalen Milroe had three rushing touchdowns against Auburn, which was the most by an Alabama player in the Iron Bowl in the last 25 years.

 

4: Alabama had four turnovers, which was the most they’ve had in one game since Jalen Milroe’s first start against Texas A&M in 2022.

 

4: Saturday was only the fourth time in the last 38 meetings that Florida and Florida State were both unranked

 

57: Aaron Anderson’s kickoff return for a touchdown was the first in 57 games for LSU dating back to the 2020 South Carolina game.

 

15: Oklahoma has lost 15 fumbles this season, which is the most of any team in the country

 

25: Texas has won 25 straight games when leading at the half.

 

186: Quintrevion Wisner had 186 yards rushing against Texas A&M, a career high.

 

9: Garrett Nussmeier had nine incompletions for the second game in a row, tying a season-best for the third time this season.

 

20: Ulysses Bentley IV had 20 carries against Mississippi State, which is the most he’s had in a single game while at Ole Miss. He had 50 carries all year coming into Saturday.

 

0: Combined wins against currently ranked opponents by all three of the ACC’s College football playoff contenders SMU, Miami, and Clemson.

 

17: Kentucky quarterbacks combined for 17 interceptions this season which was the second most of any team in the country. The Wildcats have also finished in the bottom three of the SEC for interceptions for four consecutive seasons.

 

99: Tennessee had 99 penalties this season which, was the most in the SEC and 128th in the country. This is the third year in a row that Tennessee has finished last in the SEC in total penalties under Josh Heupel.

 

7: Seven SEC teams finished ranked 102nd or worse in the country in total penalties this season.
