Saints left out of first Pro Bowl rosters

The Saints will not be represented in at the Pro Bowl. At least not initially.

The NFL has released its initial 2025 Pro Bowl rosters. Among the 88 players selected, none are members of the New Orleans Saints roster.

It has been a rough season for the Saints and their fanbase. After a fiery 2-0 start, the team is fighting for a sixth win to wrap up its season this weekend. Injuries ransacked the roster, and a seven-game losing streak necessitated a change at head coach.

Now, the cherry on top: the Saints are the only NFC team to not produce a Pro Bowl player this season. Beyond that, they are one of only four teams across the league to not send a player to the Pro Bowl on its initial roster, joining the 3-13 Tennessee Titans, the 4-12 Jew York Jets and 8-8 Miami Dolphins, who dealt with a slew of injuries as well.

New Orleans did have five players in the top-10 of Pro Bowl voting this year. Among them were running back Alvin Kamara (No. 8 running back) and safety Tyrann Mathieu (No. 8). But neither ranked high enough to crack the immediate roster.

In 2023, only linebacker Demario Davis made the original group, but defensive end Cameron Jordan was eventually added as an alternative. Kamara, Mathieu, and punter Matthew Hayball are the highest ranking Saints at their respective positions. So an alternative slot could potentially be in the cards depending on late playoff runs and injuries.

But for now, the Saints are on the outside looking in at the Pro Bowl.
