Three Tigers in ESPN Mock Draft
08/21/2024
It’s never too early for a mock draft.
Prior to a single regular season kickoff in the NFL or College Football, ESPN’s Field Yates projected the first round of April’s NFL Draft.
A Tiger trio of Will Campbell, Emery Jones and Harold Perkins made the list.
Campbell, a two-year starter at left tackle, was slotted No. 10 to the New Orleans Saints. No Tiger offensive lineman has ever been selected in the Top 10 picks. In fact, no Tiger offensive lineman has been picked in the first round since Hall of Famer Alan Faneca in 1998.
Yates thinks there could be two in 2025 as he pegged Emery Jones, the Tigers’ right tackle, at No. 16 to Cleveland.
The Tiger tackles have played together since Jones’s insertion into the lineup in Week 2 of the 2023 season. Both have garnered pre-season All-America honors entering 2024.
Harold Perkins represented the LSU defense, making the list at no. 23 overall to the Houston Texans. The junior linebacker played his high school football in Cypress, Tex., just miles outside of Houston.
