LSU rewards Austin Thomas with new contract, pay raise

BATON ROUGE, La — LSU is giving Austin Thomas a new contract and a significant raise just one year into his deal.
Wilson Alexander of The Advocate first reported the news.
LSU football general manager Austin Thomas is getting a new contract a year into his original deal, pending board approval.
His salary will average $850K over the next three years. He previously made $425K per year, but LSU gave him a raise after the work he did on the roster. pic.twitter.com/X3iTM69Y5r

Thomas will see his salary increased to $850,000 from the $425,000 he currently earns. The new deal is pending Board of Supervisors approval.
Thomas is in his third stint with the Tigers, now holding the role of Senior Associate AD for Football Administration. He had previously worked as the program’s general manager and in other roles after first arriving after the 2012 seasons.
Brian Kelly hired Thomas from Ole Miss last year. He has also worked at Texas A&M, Baylor, Tennessee and USC.
