Sarkisian updates Texas QB Ewers’ injury

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian gave an update on his injured starting quarterback Quinn Ewers on Monday. Ewers is considered “day-to-day” with an abdominal strain and is considered questionable for Saturday’s game against UL Monroe.
Ewers was injured in the first half Saturday vs UTSA and was taken to the medical tent. He did not return for the remainder of the game.

The injury prompted backup quarterback Arch Manning to come in as his replacement. The former five-star accounted for five touchdowns and finished the game with the second highest Pro Football Focus grade for any SEC quarterback in week three.

Texas plays UL Monroe and Mississippi State to close out September before back-to-back games against Oklahoma and UGA.
