Daniels, Nabers, Thomas finalists for Offensive Rookie of the Year

LSU’s historic 2023 offense took the NFL by storm in 2024.
Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. made up three of the five finalists for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Daniels piloted the Commanders to the playoffs by completing 69 percent of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, nine interceptions and a passer rating of 100.1 (seventh in the NFL).
He carried the ball 148 times for 891 yards, ranking second among quarterbacks, and six touchdowns.
Daniels wasted no time, becoming the first player in NFL history to record over 1,000 passing yards and over 250 rushing yards in his first five career games.
Thomas finished his rookie season in Jacksonville with 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns, both of which are records for Jaguars’ rookies. Thomas Jr. led rookies and finished third overall in the NFL in receiving yards, trailing only former LSU Tigers Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.
Thomas also led rookies and finished tied for sixth overall in receiving touchdowns. He is one of four rookies since 1970 to reach over 1,200 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.
Nabers, although he missed two games with a concussion, caught more passes than any rookie wide receiver in NFL history-109. That also set a Giants franchise record.
Las Vegas’ Brock Bowers and Denver’s Bo Nix were also named finalists for the award.
The winner of the AP 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award will be announced at NFL Honors presented by Invisalign at 8 p.m. CST on Thursday, February 6 at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.
