Butler is a Mobile native who earned Honorable Mention All-Big 10 honors in 2023 by leading the Cornhuskers with 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. In 2024, Butler started 10 games and made seven tackles in the backfield.
LSU defensive ends Sai’vion Jones and Bradyn Swinson enjoyed breakout senior seasons under position coach Kevin Peoples. They are both expected to be NFL Draft selections in the spring. Da’Shawn Womack transferred to Ole Miss leaving LSU especially thin at the position.
Butler helps fill that void and becomes the fourth transfer in the cycle for LSU, joining Ja’Keem Jackson, Barion Brown and Bauer Sharp.
