Former Patriots Corner Joins Saints

The Saints announced the signing of free agent cornerback Joejuan Williams on Tuesday.
Williams, a 2019 second-round selection by the New England Patriots, has 42 games of NFL experience with a single start. The 6-foot-3, 212 lbs corner has registered 46 total tackles and 10 passes defensed.
The Vanderbilt alum will provide valuable depth throughout this final week of preseason practices and will likely take a hefty amount of snaps behind corners Rico Payton, Shemar Jean-Charles, Rejzohn Wright, Kaleb Ford-Dement and Mac McCain, who missed some time with injury earlier in the offseason as well.
Alontae Taylor’s status for the final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans remains uncertain. Being that he is already solidified in his role, that should open up many opportunities for the remaining healthy corners on the depth chart.
In a corresponding move to the Williams addition, New Orleans waived center Sincere Haynesworth, who went down with a leg injury in the second preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.
