LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson is making sure the atmosphere at Alex Box Stadium will be electric for this weekend’s NCAA Baton Rouge Regional and he’s helping students pack the stands.
Johnson is covering the cost of all LSU student tickets for the regional. The move came to light Thursday when members of LSU’s student section shared an email from the athletic ticket office stating their tickets would be complimentary, thanks to the Tigers’ head coach.

LSU enters the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 national seed, boasting a dominant 30-5 home record this season. The Tigers open play Friday at 2 p.m. CT against Little Rock. Depending on results, they’ll face either Dallas Baptist or Rhode Island in their second game.
Johnson’s gesture comes as LSU looks to make another strong push toward Omaha, with the support of a packed and energized Alex Box crowd.
