Johnson updates Gavin Guidry’s health, sets return target

Gavin Guidry‘s 2025 debut won’t come this weekend.
The junior right hander has not pitched this season due to what has been called a middle-body injury.
Following Tuesday night’s win over Louisiana Tech, LSU head coach Jay Johnson put a target date on Guidry’s return.
“He could not pitch this weekend (against Mississippi State),” Johnson said. “Hopefully by Auburn we have a chance. That would be the most optimistic report that I could give you. I don’t see him pitching this weekend (at Oklahoma). There is a chance for Auburn. We’ll try to set a timetable for that. He’s got to clear some benchmarks for that.”
LSU plays at Auburn next week, April 11 to 13.
Guidry entered the season as LSU’s most experienced pitcher. Over two seasons, he’s logged 45 appearances and thrown 53 innings.
