Kelly Updates Injuries to Malbrue, Parker

Princeton Malbrue may miss significant time according to LSU head coach Brian Kelly.

The transfer has made a significant contribution on special teams over his two seasons at LSU. He was injured Sunday night on a first half kickoff and did not return to the game.

“We’re going to a little more imaging on that today,” Kelly said. “The initial imaging was not good.”

Kelly fears Malbrue may be unavailable for the remainder of the season, but official word will come at a later time.

Wide receiver Kyle Parker also left the game in the first quarter

“He had a UCL,” Kelly said. “Looks to have been an injury that he’s going to come back from, but we just don’t know how quickly. Call him doubtful (for this week).”

Parker was filling in for senior Chirs Hilton who missed the game with a bone bruise suffered in camp.

Kelly said Hilton is “ground-based running” but isn’t yet comfortable running routes full speed on the field.

“I want to make sure he’s 100 percent before we put him back out there.”

LSU and Nicholls kick off at 6:30 Saturday night in LSU’s home opener.
