Mel Kiper’s first 2024 NFL mock draft highlights SEC talent

Mel Kiper released his first mock draft ahead of April’s NFL draft. This marks the first mock draft from Kiper that includes all 32 teams in the first round, as well as the first one he’s made since the end of the 2024 season. 

The first-round mock draft included several SEC players, with three selected in the top 10 overall. LSU All-American left tackle Will Campbell and Georgia defenders Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams were among the top 10 picks. The lists also projected 15 players from the SEC from nine different schools. 

Here’s a look at every player in the first round from Mel Kiper with the SEC players in bold.

  3. New York Giants: Shedeur Saners, QB – Colorado 
  4. New England Patriots: Abdul Carter, OLB – Penn State

  6. Las Vegas Raiders: Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona
  7. New York Jets: Mykel Williams, OLB – Georgia
