Mettenberger named head coach at Nashville area high school

Zach Mettenberger has been named the new head football coach at Father Ryan High School in Nashville. He spent the 2021 season as an assistant at the school before joining Nick Saban’s Alabama staff as an analyst in 2022-2023.

Mettenberger spent three seasons at LSU, starting in 2012 and 2013. He became the first Tigers quarterback to throw for 2,500 yards in consecutive seasons.
The Tennessee Titans selected Mettenberger in the 6th Round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He would spend three seasons with the Titans, Chargers and Steelers before a hiatus from football. In 2019, Mettenberger played in the Alliance of American Football for the Memphis Express. He began his coaching career the following season.
