Pelicans announce three front office additions

The New Orleans Pelicans have announced three additions to the team’s front office.
Troy Weaver has been hired as the Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, Jason Hervey as Director of Player Personnel and Davis Smith as Basketball Operations Manager.

Weaver was a senior advisor for the Washington Wizards last season. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as the general manager of the Detroit Pistons. He has also worked for the Thunder and Jazz.
Hervey just wrapped up his fourth season as a scout with the Trailblazers. Smith is a Michigan State alum who spent last season as a player development assistant with the Valley Suns of the NBA G League.
The Pelicans have seen an overhaul in the front office. The team fired David Griffin after finishing 21-61, the franchise’s worst record since 2004-05, and replaced him with Joe Dumars as the Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.
