Pro Football Focus Week 9 SEC QB Grades

By Chris Marler
A Sunday morning tradition unlike any other, PFF has released their post-Week Nine grades for SEC Quarterbacks for the 2024 season. Here’s how each QB rated out after another crazy weekend of college football and where they ranked nationally.
Last week, only three SEC quarterbacks saw an increase in their grade and national ranking. This week was much different as we saw a lot of movement in the weekly grades and national rankings. A total of eight SEC quarterbacks moved up in the national rankings including three that were on a bye week.
The most notable jumps from week eight to week nine were Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green, Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed, and Mississippi State’s Michael Van Buren. Green had a huge day in Starkville, piling up nearly 400 yards of total offense and scoring six touchdowns. His opponent Michael Van Buren did throw two interceptions, but the true freshman continues to impress with his accuracy and ability to score. On the season, he has nine touchdowns in just four starts with three of those starts coming against (what we expect to be) current top ten teams.
Then there is Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed who came off the bench against LSU to spark a huge come from behind win, scoring three touchdowns and leading the Aggies to five straight second half scoring drives.
