Report: Kellen Moore to the Saints could be finalized Tuesday

By Ross Jackson
The ongoing anticipation of Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore becoming the next New Orleans Saints head coach will soon be over.
Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the deal could be finalized as soon as Tuesday and announced as quickly as Wednesday.
The expectation has been that Moore will be named head coach in the days following the Super Bowl, with significant progress likely by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Moore was given the opportunity to travel back to Philadelphia after winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday, allowing him time to celebrate with his team.
Rapoport also reported the same two names that have been constant when it comes to Moore’s potential staff.
Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier, who has been with Moore in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia seems like a strong candidate for offensive coordinator. Meanwhile, San Francisco 49ers assistant head coach Brandon Staley continues to pick up steam as the possible defensive coordinator selection.
Staley was the previous head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers and hired Moore as his offensive coordinator last year. Now Moore could return the favor. Though, Rapoport believes that the defensive coordinator search will be “more open.”
Another name to watch is Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebackers coach George Edwards, who has been recently floated as a candidate. The veteran defensive coach was a longtime, non-play-calling defensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings and later overlapped with Moore while serving as a senior defensive assistant in Dallas.
