South Carolina apologizes for ‘inappropriate’ song during win over LSU

South Carolina athletics issued an apology Sunday for an “inappropriate song selection” by the in-game DJ during the Gamecock’s 66-56 win over LSU Friday in Columbia, SC.
DJ T.O. played a song by Camoflauge, the stage name of the late father of LSU guard Flau’jae Johnson, shortly after the game went final. Johnson replied to the apparent taunt on X.

In the statement, South Carolina apologized and announced DJ T.O. will be suspended for the next home game. In addition, the athletics department “will provide further education on our expectations of her in the future.”

The Gamecocks have won 17-straight games against LSU, including a 5-0 record against Kim Mulkey’s Tigers. The Gamecocks and Tigers have won the last two women’s college basketball national championships.
