Texas loses slugger Belyeu for season

Texas outfielder Max Belyeu will miss the remainder of the season with a broken thumb suffered last weekend against Missouri, according to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.
INJURY UPDATE: @TexasBaseball All-American outfielder Max Belyeu will miss the rest of the regular season with a fractured thumb, I’m told. Belyeu could be back for the postseason for the #Horns. He was hitting .358 with six homers and 22 RBIs this season for #Hookem.

Belyeu was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2024 when he hit .329 with 18 homeruns. He was off to a strong start for the longhorns this season, hitting .358 with six homeruns.
No. 5 Texas is 23-3 and 8-1 in SEC play in their first season under head coach Jim Schlossnagle. The Longhorns host No. 3 Georgia is a top-five series this weekend in Austin.
