Tom Brady lists Saints as one of his top teams entering Week 3

By Ross Jackson
If anyone knows good football, it’s former NFL quarterback and the oft-referenced greatest of all time, Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has begun his post-playing career media work with FOX where he was on the broadcast team for the New Orleans Saints’ shellacking of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. So, not only does Brady know ball, he saw the Saints’ new identity up close and personally, leading to him listing the Saints as one of the five best NFL teams headed into Week 3.
🚨POWER RANKINGS🚨@TomBrady’s Top 5 teams going into Week 3!
1. @Chiefs
2. @BuffaloBills
3. @Buccaneers
4. @HoustonTexans
5. @Saints pic.twitter.com/MWHB9fgpnu— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) September 19, 2024
Brady credits the Saints as the No. 5 team in his Week 3 power rankings. Trailing behind other successful teams like the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (one of his former teams), Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. Pretty salty company for New Orleans, and perhaps company that many did not expect them to keep in 2024.
Brady highlights the team’s historic output of 91 points over the first two weeks, which is tied for No. 2 all-time trailing their own record (93 points) in 2009. He also credits Saints quarterback Derek Carr for his outstanding play to open the year which had led to 15-straight first-team possessions leading in points scored.
It has been no mystery that New Orleans is off to a hot start. Maintaining that momentum will be the biggest question they will have to answer moving forward. The Saints look equipped to get that done at this time. And hey, getting a nod from the “GOAT” is a pretty nice way to start an already exciting season.
