Walter Mathis Jr. Commits to LSU

On the eve of the team’s home opener, LSU added another member to its star-studded recruiting class.
Walter Mathis Jr., a 6-foot-1, 285 lbs., defensive lineman from Calvary Baptist Day School in Savannah, GA., announced his commitment via social media.
On3, 247Sports and ESPN rate Mathis a three-star prospect. He chose the Tigers over offers from Miami and Clemson among others.
Mathis becomes the 26th member of LSU’s class and fourth interior defensive lineman for position coach Bo Davis.
