Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel broke the news via Ewers’ agent, Ron Slavin. Ewers was the former No. 1 overall recruit in the country, and a three-year starter at Texas after a brief stint at Ohio State. He ends his career in Austin with 9,128 yards, 68 touchdowns, and a career 64.9 percent completion percentage over 36 starts.
There was some speculation as to whether or not Ewers would declare for the draft or enter the transfer portal. Several high profile schools like Georgia, Alabama and Notre Dame were rumored to have interest in a large NIL package for Ewers to return for one more year at their respective schools.
Ewers finishes his career at Texas as one of the most prolific signal callers in program history after leading the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances. He is currently the No. 5 ranked quarterback prospect for this year’s NFL Draft according to ESPN Draft analyst Mel Kiper.
