Elfrid Payton is back with the Pelicans on a 10-day contract, the team announced Friday.

The Gretna, La., native and former ULL star spent the 2018-19 season with his hometown team, playing in 42 games. He saw action is seven games with the team earlier this season averaging 6.7 points and 6.9 assists per game during that span.
Payton is a 6-foot-4, 202 pound guard who was drafted 10th overall by Orlando in 2014. He has played in 513 career games with the Magic, Suns, Pelicans, Knicks and Hornets.
New Orleans has been decimated by injuries this season and are currently without guards Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy.
