Report: Reagan Ricken pulls out of MLB Draft

A second LSU signee has pulled out of the MLB Draft.

Reagan Ricken, a hard-throwing right-hander from Temecula, CA., will stick with his LSU commitment according to Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.

Ricken is a very promising prospect. He’s 6-foot-5 and played quarterback for Great Oak High School. His fastball has topped out at 97 mph, and his breaking ball is a plus pitch.

He’s currently enrolled in summer school at LSU, and, like catcher Omar Serna, he filed the paperwork to withdraw from the draft beginning on Sunday.

Perfect Game ranked Ricken as the no. 69 prospect in the high school ranks. ESPN ranks him No. 121 among all draft-eligible prospects, and Doyle ranked him No. 206.

Ricken is a big part of LSU’s top-ranked signing class, and he’ll be a Tiger.
