Just two plays into their first offesnsive series, the Saints suffered a potentitally significant injury.
Will Clapp, who started for the Saints against the Chargers, injured his right leg and had to leave the game. After being examined in the medical tent on the sideline, Clapp was carted to the locker room with his right cleat removed.

Clapp is in his eighth NFL season after being drafted by New Orleans out of LSU is 2018. He spent two seasons with the Chargers before playing for the Bills last year. He re-signed with his hometown team this offseason, reuniting with Kellen Moore after their time together in Los Angeles.
Erik McCoy is the Saints starting center, but Clapp’s versatility as an interior offensive lineman makes him a favorite to earn a roster spot.
Rookie Torricelli Simpkins III replaced Clapp after the injury.
At the start of the second quarter, starting left guard Trevor Penning was also carted to the locker room.
