Report: Caden Durham unlikely to play at Ole Miss

LSU will likely attack a vulnerable Ole Miss defense without its starting tailback on Saturday.

Caden Durham is unlikely to play in Oxford according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel. On the final availability report of the week, Durham was listed as questionable.

Head coach Brian Kelly insisted all week that a decision would not be made until game time neared. Durham’s sprained ankle doesn’t appear to have made the necessary progress to give it a go.

The final injury report lists Durham as questionable.

A source indicated to LouisianaSports.net that Ju’Juan Johnson is the likely starter who will get the majority of the carries. Freshman Harlem Berry and junior Kaleb Jackson are both available, as well.

Kelly spoke about his teams running game Thursday night calling for efficiency.

“We want efficient runs,” he said. “And then we want to be able to use the run game to set up everything else that we do, and that’s really where when we start to step back sand look at what you want for an offense, it’s not tied to how many yards you rush for. It’s the efficiency of what you do in the run game.”
