Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan is taking an immediate leave of absence to address personal matters, the program announced Wednesday afternoon.

“I appreciate the support of the University and athletic department, “said O’Sullivan. “I have some personal and family issues that need my full attention at this time.”

The news came hours after Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello announced he was leaving his job in Knoxville to become the manager of the San Francisco Giants.

O’Sullivan has led the Gators for 18 seasons since 2008, compiling 756 wins, a .671 winning percentage, nine trips to Omaha, and a 2017 national championship.
