There’s little time for a victory lap in Baton Rouge for Lane Kiffin–he’s got a lot of work to do.

Among the top priorities for the Tigers’ new head coach is assembling a coaching staff.

LouisianaSports.net has learned Kiffin will bring his general manager Billy Glasscock, strength and conditioning coordinator Nick Savage and his brother and Rebels analyst Chris Kiffin to Baton Rouge.

On3 shared video from the Oxford airport Sunday of offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, Jr. boarding a plane to Baton Rouge. He has also reportedly been in conversations for the vacant South Florida head coaching position. Sources have suggested Weis might return to coach the Rebels in the College Football Playoff.

Additionally, Matt Zenitz is reporting wide receiver coach George McDonald and senior associate AD for football operations Thaddeus Rivers will join Kiffin at LSU.

LouisianaSports.net has also learned that Ole Miss tight ends coach and Co-offensive coordinator Joe Cox traveled to Baton Rouge with Kiffin.

With Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding being promoted to head coach, it is likely that Blake Baker and much of his defensive staff could remain in place. Baker could be a candidate for the Tulane head coaching opening with Jon Sumrall leaving New Orleans for the Florida job.

The only LSU position coach with direct experience with Kiffin is interim head coach Frank Wilson who was Kiffin’s wide receivers coach for a season at Tennessee. While acting as interim head coach, Wilson is still LSU’s recruiting coordinator. Signing day is Wednesday.
