Offensive staffers Charlie Weis Jr. (OC), George McDonald (WRs), Joe Cox (TEs), Dane Stevens (QBs) and Sawyer Jordan (slot WR) have all accepted positions at LSU under Kiffin but returned to Oxford Monday to prepare for the CFP.
An LSU official confirmed to LouisianaSports.net that all the assistants have signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding with non-compete language that requires that they assume their roles at LSU immediately following the end of Ole Miss’s season.

“It was the right thing to do,” the LSU officials said, noting they would have allowed Lane Kiffin to remain with the Rebels through the CFP had Ole Miss AD Keith Carter allowed it.
The Rebels will host Tulane in the first round of the CFP on December 20. Should they win, they would advance to the Sugar Bowl to take on No. 3 seed Georgia in New Orleans on New Years Day. The semifinals are January 8 and 9, and the national title game will be played January 19.
The transfer portal opens January 2, and LSU is expected to be active in acquiring talent for 2026.
