It appears Dedan Thomas Jr. is not yet ready to return.
LSU’s point guard was listed as “Doubtful” on Tuesday night’s injury report just less than 24 hours before Kentucky visits the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers have been without Thomas for all three SEC games and are 0-3.
Thomas’s 7.1 assist per game average is ninth in the country. With him, the Tigers are 12-1. Without him, LSU’s offense has suffered, averaging just 70 points per game, 19 below the preconference average.
LSU has turned to freshman Jalen Reece and senior transfer Rashad King to run the point. Expect that to continue against the Wildcats on Wednesday night.
Kentucky enters thew game 10-6, 1-2 in league play.
