National Signing Day used to be a national holiday for some folks around the Southeast. Fax machines, players commits, player flips, and sometimes angry mothers stealing the moment from their sons who ultimately chose a different school than they preferred.

Not anymore.

Over 90 percent of the top ranked high school recruits have signed in the early signing period in December over the last four recruiting cycles. With Early Signing Day being followed by the transfer portal, the momentum for February’s traditional signing day has slowed to a near halt. The good news for fans is that the third and final window for addition to rosters has come to an end.
