Saints Draft Scouting Report: Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson

It’s been no mystery that the New Orleans Saints are interested in this year’s wide receiver class. The team has already had six top-30 visits reported with wide receivers and conducted additional work at the position.

One prospect the Saints scheduled a visit with is Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, a first-round X-receiver whose injury history has overshadowed his otherwise impressive resume.

Player Profile: Tyson is 21 years old, stands 6-foot-2, weighs 203 pounds, with an arm length of 30 1/4 inches and hand size of 9 1/8 inches. He completed 26 bench press repetitions.

Lining up opposite Chris Olave, Tyson would provide a quality complement. Both can line up outside and in the slot, run routes from multiple alignments, and excel at contested catches. Tyson adds yards after catch production and physical play style.

2025 Statistics: 61 receptions, 711 receiving yards, 8 touchdown catches, 11.7 yards per reception, 1 rushing touchdown.

Strengths: Excellent route-runner with nuanced technique, explosive release, dominant mentality, consistent contested-catch production, effective blocker, and exceptional body control.

Concerns: Extensive injury history including knee injuries (ACL, MCL, PCL), collarbone and hamstring issues since 2022, limited straight-line speed, and occasional concentration drops.

Conclusion: The Saints must be confident in Tyson’s medical clearance to justify the No. 8 selection. If comfortable with his health trajectory, he represents a day-one game changer, though significant risk remains.
