Michael C. Hebert/New Orleans Saints

If rookie minicamp taught us anything about what to expect out of New Orleans Saints training camp in a couple of months, it’s that former LSU wide receiver and sixth-round draft selection Barion Brown will not come up short when it comes to delivering big plays.
A go route down the left sideline finished with Brown making a diving grab over the top from tryout quarterback from Southern Mississippi Braylon Braxton. The deep ball connection was an exact display of a statement made by head coach Kellen Moore a day earlier.
“He’s a receiver as well,” Moore said when asked whether Brown has the skills to be more than a returner. “I think that’s an important asset that we view this as, is (that) we’re onboarding a guy who’s a returner and a receiver, and it’s not going to be just a returner and nothing else.”
Brown’s 4.40-second 40-yard dash doesn’t do the speedster justice. He was clocked with a GPS speed of 22.6 MPH ahead of the 2025 season, one of the fastest captured in college football.
While he carries the tag of a return specialist with six kickoff return touchdowns while in college, his blazing speed is sure to help him stand out as a receiver as well.
Expect a fair share of highlight big plays to hit social media with No. 19 on the receiving end this summer.
