It took a few days longer than expected, but Jayden Anding has committed to LSU.
The four-star safety from Ruston (La.) was supposed to make his announcement a week ago, but delayed the decision to Tuesday. Now, he becomes the 16th member of Lane Kiffin’s 2027 recruiting class. He joins Greedy James as the safeties in this class, although James projects as a cornerback for the Tigers.
Anding is the younger brother of LSU cornerback Aidan Anding.
Jayden Anding (5’11, 170) is No. 330 in the Rivals Industry Ranking and the No. 29 safety. He picked LSU among double-digit offers including Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Miami, Kansas State.
The LSU safety room appears to be healthy for the present and the future. Boise State transfer Ty Benefield will join Tamarcus Cooley on the back end in 2026. Cooley could return for a fifth season in 2027 and will be joined by Ohio State transfer Faheem Delane and blue chip freshman Aiden Hall along with Jhase Thomas. Dashawn Spears has shifted to the STAR position in Blake Baker’s defense this season.
