Spears is the son of former LSU two-sport star Marcus Spears and LSU women’s basketball player Aiysha Smith Spears. He chose the Longhorns over LSU, Arizona, North Carolina and Kentucky.
Spears (6’9, 210) is a consensus five star power forward and is ranked No. 19 overall in the Rivals Industry Ranking for 2026. He plays for Plano (TX) Dynamic Prep.
Spears turned 17 in April, meaning he will have to spend two years in college before entering the NBA Draft.
