Left-handed pitching and a power bat are headed to Baton Rouge.
Lucas Nawrocki is supplying both.
The Aledo (TX), product posted on his Instagram Friday night that he would withdraw from the MLB Draft. He has been clocked up to 95 mph with his left-handed fastball and launched ball after ball into the right field seats at Chase Field during the MLB Combine last week.
Teams have been trying to hide Aledo (Tx.) Lucas Nawrocki’s bat all season. He was already a potential $2m LHP.

Sources confirm to LouisianaSports.net that he will “absolutely” play both ways at LSU. Nawrocki immediately adds left-handed bullpen depth with a wicked slider and can really hit from the left side, as well. Because of LSU’s veteran lineup, his impact likely falls on the pitching side in 2027 but should bleed over to outfield/1B play as he progresses.
At 5-foot-11, Nawrocki projects as a reliever in the professional ranks. That likely tipped the scales in LSU’s favor this weekend. He joins outfielder Nate Davis and southpaw Braxton Beaty as signees to withdraw from MLB consideration.
The MLB Draft begins Saturday at noon central.
