It’s time to close out the month of September, and there is only one place to go for the final weekend of the month. Let’s head to Athens for Oklahoma at Georgia.
Week 4: Classic City bound
Oklahoma heads to Georgia in an absolutely loaded weekend of college football that features several potential top 25 games.
Texas A&M heads to Baton Rouge to face LSU in what has been an instant classic several times over the last few years. We’ve already been to Baton Rouge and attended two LSU games in the first three weeks. Plus, spoiler alert: With that loaded schedule, we’re definitely going back for at least one more.
There’s also the South Carolina-Alabama game in Tuscaloosa which has been must-see television each of the last two seasons.
Neither of those games make the cut for the bucket list road trip this season, though. We are headed to the greatest college town in America – Athens, Georgia.
Oklahoma heads to Sanford Stadium to play Georgia. It’s a matchup between two CFP teams from a season ago. It will feature two of the best quarterbacks in the country and could very well vault one of them into the lead for the 2026 Heisman Trophy.
These two teams are kind of mirror images of each other. They’re built on suffocating defense and a belief in running the football first. Both should be great in the trenches, and feature two of the best special teams units in the country, as well.
Closing out the month of September in Athens is not for the faint of heart, and you better mix in a water. But, there is no college town quite like the Classic City. Head to Amici for wings, go to Boar’s Head for drinks and head to The Place on Friday night to take in a five-star dinner before a five-star matchup the next day between the hedges.
