All good things must come to an end. The SEC regular season is no different. We close out our 2026 bucket list road trip around the SEC with two trips and Thanksgiving sandwiched in between.
Week 12: LSU at Tennessee
These two teams have been featured more than any other this season in our hypothetical trip around the conference. But, this trip is one of the best of the year. Everyone keeps talking about Lane Kiffin’s jaded ex, Ole Miss. Don’t forget the OG jaded and bitter ex, Tennessee.
The last time Kiffin went to Rocky Top the entire student section was issued a flag for unsportsmanlike penalty as French’s Mustard and Titleists flooded the field.
Kiffin returns to Knoxville in what could be one of the biggest trap games of the year in the SEC. LSU hosts back-to-back massive games at the start of the month, as Alabama and Texas come to town. Not enough people are talking about the potential let down that could take place for LSU when they play at Neyland Stadium.
At this point of the season, the freshman starting quarterback for the Vols will be almost all grown up. The defense should be much better in the final month of the season under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, as well.
This LSU team is going to exceed expectations in year one, but this is a very dangerous game for them.
Week 13: Texas at Texas A&M
We close out the season with a first time expedition to the land of Summer Camp bonfires and singalongs. The only place in the conference that hisses instead of boos and has a practice for yelling. We’re, of course, talking about Texas A&M. Say what you want about how weird the Aggies are, but at least they wear it all like a badge of honor.
The grand finale of our season-long road trip will end in College Station to watch the most Big Brother versus Little Brother rivalry in the league. The Longhorns come to town, and will try to go a perfect 3-0 in the rivalry since it was renewed after they joined the league.
This is a rivalry that is filled with hate year round, but it’s especially palpable the last weekend in November.
This year’s edition returns to Kyle Field where the get-in price, as well as total fans getting inside, will be as high as you can imagine. Roughly 110,000 Aggies will make what is largely considered the nicest road trip for opposing fans anything but that.
The game could end one, or both, of these teams’ playoff hopes, and should be another instant classic.
