The New Orleans Saints are about to begin their final installation practice before turning their eyes to preseason game prep with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With the team putting its final touches on its system, a few players that are set to benefit from the offensive and defensive philosophies will be in focus.
WR Bryce Lance
Rookie wide receiver Bryce Lance has been on an upward trajectory all training camp. He’s consistently been one of the most targeted pass-catchers of the offseason thus far, keeping the Saints’ habit of providing a heavy workload for rookies alive.
Recently, he’s added some strong playmaking to his consistency. Now that the offense is almost installed, he has a chance to continue showing how he can be an impact player during his inaugural season.
For these same reasons, keeping an eye out for fellow rookie wideouts Jordyn Tyson and Barion Brown would be highly recommended.
S Julian Blackmon
Expected to have one of the biggest defensive impacts of 2026, safety Julian Blackmon appears to have avoided an injury scare in the second week of camp.
With him already back on the field after leaving the eighth day of practice early for a knee issue, he should be a player worth keeping an eye on on Tuesday.
The ballhawking safety is expected to thrive in defensive coordinator Brandon Staley’s defense. With the system taught, seeing Blackmon’s next step should be an exciting concept.
TE Moliki Matavao
One of the biggest pleasant surprises in camp, tight end Moliki Matavao has clearly made a leap in his second-year with head coach Kellen Moore.
Seeing where Matavao’s contributions land ahead of joint practices will provide intriguing insight of his standing ahead of the next phase of the team’s offseason.
With preseason action on the way, Matavao is in line for a lot of competitive opportunities ahead.
