The New Orleans Saints announced a pair of roster moves Wednesday afternoon, including officially ending a key depth piece’s season.
The team announced that it has placed offensive lineman Dillon Radunz on injured reserve. The transaction ends his season.
It’s a tough blow for the Saints, who will now be without a player that can backup both guard spots and both tackle spots. The team has a stable of offensive line talent waiting in the wings, but the loss of experience with Radunz out of the year now is potentially problematic.
To fill that roster spot, the Saints also announced the signing of defensive lineman Khalil Saunders.
Saunders is a 6-foot-3, 287-pound defensive tackle out of Kentucky. He’s going to fit the mold as a 3-4 end on the interior. He’s an athletic player with 4.98 40-yard dash speed and impressive leaping ability for his size.
He wrangled 4.5 sacks and 12 tackles for a loss over the course of his collegiate years with the Wildcats.
