Trendon Watford is returning to Louisiana.

The former LSU forward has agreed to a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. Shams Charania was the first to report the signing.

Watford spent last season with the 76ers where he played in 53 games with seven starts. Across his five NBA seasons with Portland, Brooklyn and Philadelphia, Watford has played in 270 games with 37 starts. He has averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for his career.

The 25-year-old spent two seasons in Baton Rouge (2019-2021) playing for Will Wade’s Tigers. He went undrafted in 2021 before signing with the Trail Blazers.

The Pelicans are entering their first season with Jamahl Mosley as head coach.
