LSU is poised to add another veteran player to its roster.
The Cleveland Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright and should he clear waivers, will join Lane Kiffin’s Tigers. Adam Schefter was the first to report the roster move Sunday.
Wright was one of 16 football players granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) by a Louisiana judge last week giving him an extra season of eligibility. The NCAA recently approved a new 5-for-5 eligibility model, calling into question members of the high school class of 2022 who exercised their four years in four seasons.
Wright played the last two seasons at Ole Miss under Kiffin after beginning his career at Virginia Tech. After going undrafted, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles but was waived in August. He signed with Cleveland three days later.
As a senior in 2025, Wright caught 39 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns.
LSU added former Notre Dame defensive end Junior Tuihalamaka Friday.
LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green has been named preseason All-American. Oregon transfer Zach Grace is also on the roster.
