LSU has added another former NFL player.
Former Ole Miss and Saints defensive tackle Zxavien Harris committed to the Tigers on Monday. He was cut by New Orleans on Aug. 8.
Last season, Harris started all 15 games for Ole Miss, recording 58 tackles including nine tackles for loss. He finished the season with three sacks.
LSU has been playing a pair of true freshmen at defensive tackle in Deuce Geralds and Richard Anderson. The 6-foot-8, 330-pound Harris adds a veteran to the mix.
Harris will have to learn defensive coordinator Blake Baker’s defensive system, but he’s got two weeks to do that before the season begins Sept. 5 against Clemson. He immediately becomes the most accomplished defensive tackle on the Tigers’ roster.
